KEKE WYATT WILL HEADLINE CONCERT AFTER WOMEN'S WALK
The Northside Coalition for Fair Housing will be holding it's ninth annual Women's Walk for Peace on Saturday, September 24, 2016. The day will begin with 8 am setup and breakfast then at 10 am the two-mile march from Wilson and Charles Street (The Pittsburgh Project) to West Park will begin. Once at West Park the WW4P Festival will take place. The Festival will start at approximately 12 pm.
The Women's Walk for Peace Festival will be a grand event behind the Aviary in West Park. Along with community members and fellow "Pittsburghers" there will be activities for adults, activities for kids, information booths, vendors, and some of the best food that you can get. All of this will be accompanied by live bands and performances, and this year we are proud to say the Keke Wyatt will be headlining the musical performances.
Mrs. Keke Wyatt is a mother and wife that is a solo artist that has become a stable in the music industry. She has had numerous songs and albums that have been featured on "Billboards Top 100". Most may recognize her from the hit single "Nothing in this World". But apart from music Mrs. Keke Wyatt has dealt with violent situations within her personal life and can attest to the importance of nonviolence and the importance of The Women's Walk for Peace.

"The purpose of this walk is to encourage women and their families to take a stand against all types of violence, including domestic violence, gang violence, the unlawful use of guns, and various other violent acts that degrade and destroy our communities," says Ronell Guy, Executive Director of Northside Coalition for Fair Housing. She adds, "The Women's Walk for Peace gives us an opportunity to provide support and encouragement for those who have been victimized by violence or who have family members who have been victimized; and it also provides education and resources on violence prevention for individuals who want to become part of the solution."
The women, families, and community organizations supporting the Walk believe that together we can create a community culture of peace and nonviolence based on an absolute respect for human life and human spirit. For more information, call (412) 321-5527.
